SMS terms

Last updated October 22, 2026

These terms cover text messages sent to golfers by golf courses that use TeeMarshal, and text messages TeeMarshal sends on a course's behalf. Each course is the sender of its own messages. TeeMarshal provides the software that delivers them.

Program description

When you book a tee time with a course that uses TeeMarshal and give a mobile number, the course may text you about that booking. If you also opt in, the course may send you occasional offers. Messages come from the course's own local number and name the course. The program includes:

  • Booking messages: confirmations, reminders before your tee time, changes, cancellations, frost or weather delay notices, receipts, and payment links you asked for.
  • Waitlist messages: if you join a waitlist, a text when a matching tee time opens.
  • Tee time confirmation requests: a request to confirm you still plan to play.
  • Offers (opt-in only): occasional tee time offers and course news, and a review request after a round.

How you opt in

You opt in by checking the text message box when you book online, by giving your mobile number and agreeing when you book by phone, or by texting the course's number. The checkbox at online checkout reads exactly:

Text me booking confirmations, reminders, and occasional offers from {course}. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out.

In that sentence, {course} is replaced with the name of the course you are booking with. The box is not checked for you, and agreeing to texts is not a condition of booking or buying anything. If you provide a mobile number with a booking, the course may send messages about that booking (confirmation, reminder, delay, or cancellation). Offers are sent only if you opted in.

Message frequency

Message frequency varies. Booking messages depend on how often you book: typically 2 to 4 messages per booking. Offers are occasional, usually no more than 4 per month from a course. Waitlist alerts are limited to 3 per waitlist request per day.

Cost

Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile plan. Neither the course nor TeeMarshal charges you for texts.

How to opt out

Reply STOP to any message at any time. You will get one message confirming that you are unsubscribed, and after that you will receive no more texts from that course's number unless you opt back in. STOP applies to the course you replied to. If you get texts from more than one course, reply STOP to each. To opt back in, reply START or UNSTOP to the same number, or check the box the next time you book.

How to get help

Reply HELP to any message for help. You can also contact the course directly using the phone number or email on its booking site, or contact TeeMarshal at support@teemarshal.com.

Quiet hours

Courses set quiet hours (by default 9:00 pm to 7:00 am local time) during which the service holds non-urgent texts. Same-day delay and cancellation notices can be sent at any hour because they affect your tee time.

Carriers

Supported carriers include AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, and most other US carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery is not guaranteed and depends on your carrier and your device.

Your privacy

Mobile numbers and text message opt-in data and consent are not shared with or sold to any third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. Your number is used by the course you booked with, and by TeeMarshal and its messaging providers only to deliver that course's messages. See the privacy policy for details.

Who can take part

You must be the account holder or authorized user of the mobile number you provide, and at least 18 years old or have a parent or guardian's permission. If you change your number, reply STOP from the old number first or tell the course so it can update your record.

For course operators

  • You are the sender of messages from your account and are responsible for complying with the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, carrier rules, and state law.
  • The consent sentence above is fixed and cannot be edited. Marketing texts go only to golfers with a recorded opt-in. Every opt-in, opt-out, and HELP request is written to a consent log that cannot be changed.
  • If you import contacts and attest that they consented to marketing texts, that attestation is logged with your name and the date, and you must be able to produce the underlying consent.
  • Each course is registered with carriers (10DLC) using its own business details. Marketing campaigns are blocked until registration is approved.
  • Content must follow the acceptable use policy.

Changes

We may update these terms and will post the new version here with a new date. If you do not agree with a change, reply STOP to opt out.
