DocsConnecting Stripe

Connecting Stripe

Card payments run through Stripe. Your course is the merchant of record, the money goes to your bank, and you pay Stripe's standard rate directly.

How it is set up

Each course gets its own Stripe Express account, connected to TeeMarshal. Charges are made directly on your account. That means:

  • Your course's name appears on the golfer's card statement.
  • Payouts go from Stripe to your bank account on Stripe's payout schedule.
  • Your golfers' saved cards belong to your Stripe account.
  • You pay Stripe's standard processing rate. TeeMarshal adds no markup at launch. If that ever changes, we will tell you in advance and in writing.

Connecting your account

  1. Open Settings, Payments (or the Stripe step of the setup wizard).
  2. Choose Connect Stripe. The Stripe form opens inside TeeMarshal.
  3. Enter your business details, the details of a person who represents the business, and the bank account for payouts. Stripe requires this information to verify your business.
  4. Submit. Most accounts are ready to take payments within minutes. If Stripe needs a document, the Payments page shows exactly what is outstanding.
You can run the sheet and take pay-at-course bookings before Stripe is connected. Online payment options appear on your booking page once your account is ready.

What golfers can pay with

Cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Link. Card details are entered into Stripe's form and never touch TeeMarshal's servers.

Payouts and fees

The Payments report lists payouts, Stripe fees, and refunds, with links into your Stripe Express dashboard. You can export it as CSV for your bookkeeper.

Refunds

Refund a payment from the booking on the sheet. Full and partial refunds are both supported, and you record a reason. The default amount follows your cancellation policy, and staff can change it.

Rain checks

When weather ends a round, you can issue a rain check in place of a refund. The golfer gets a code with a balance. They can enter it at online checkout, or staff can apply it at the counter. The balance and any expiry date are tracked for you.

Saved cards and no-show charges

A card is saved when your policy requires a card on file or when the golfer chooses to save it. If your policy charges for no-shows, marking a booking as a no-show attempts the charge against the saved card. If it fails, the booking says so and nothing else changes.

Disputes

If a golfer disputes a charge with their bank, we email your manager the booking details and the time the golfer accepted your policy, so you have what you need to respond in Stripe.

Card readers at the counter

Counter payments with Stripe Terminal readers are part of the pro shop point of sale module. It is included on every plan and switched on for your course on request. Without it, take counter payments on your existing terminal and mark the booking as paid.
