Custom booking domain

Your booking page can live on your own domain, such as book.yourcourse.com. Golfers stay on your brand from your website to their confirmation.

Before you start

Your booking page already works at yourcourse.teemarshal.com, and it keeps working after you add your own domain. You need a login for wherever your domain's DNS is managed. That is usually your domain registrar or your website host. If someone else built your website, they can do steps 2 and 3 in a couple of minutes.

Steps

  1. In TeeMarshal, open Settings, Booking engine, Domain. Enter the address you want, for example book.yourcourse.com, and save. The page now shows the DNS record to create, including its target.
  2. Sign in to your DNS provider and add a new record with these values:
DNS record to create
FieldValue
TypeCNAME
Name (or host)book
Value (or target, points to)The target shown in Settings. Copy and paste it exactly.
TTLLeave the default
  1. Save the record at your DNS provider.
  2. Back in TeeMarshal, choose Verify. DNS changes are usually visible within a few minutes, though some providers take up to a day.
  3. Once verified, the security certificate is issued automatically. There is nothing to buy or install. Your booking page is live on your domain with a padlock.

Then update your links

  • Point the Book a tee time button on your website to the new address.
  • Update the booking link on your Google Business Profile.
  • Links already sent in emails and texts keep working.

If verification fails

  • Check the name field. Most providers want just book, not the full address. Entering the full address can create book.yourcourse.com.yourcourse.com.
  • Check for an existing record. If there is already a record named book, remove it first.
  • Turn off proxying. If your DNS provider offers a proxy option on the record (for example an orange cloud), set it to DNS only.
  • Give it time. Wait 15 minutes and choose Verify again.
Use a subdomain such as book, teetimes, or reserve. Your main website address stays exactly as it is. If you ever leave TeeMarshal, delete the record and the address is yours to point anywhere.
